what to do in the inner harbor baltimore for a weekend

With a full time job and limited vacation days, I’ve learned to live for three day weekends and day-trip getaways. My birthday this year was no different, as I celebrated 23 in one of my favorite places, the Inner Harbor of Baltimore.

If you’re looking for exciting ways to fill your days for a long weekend, look no further.

Dive Deeper at the Baltimore National Aquariumwhat to do in the inner harbor baltimore for a weekendwhat to do in the inner harbor baltimore for a weekendThe first place you have to check out is the Baltimore National Aquarium. I’ve written about this before, so I won’t go into too much detail, but even visiting the second time was tons of fun. All the exhibits have something new to offer; my favorite is by far the jelly fish exhibit. Not to mention, they’ve recently announced some exciting news. They’ll be moving their dolphin sanctuary oceanside– the first oceanside sanctuary for dolphins in the nation.

Find Your Wild Side at the Maryland Zoo

As hot as it was outside that day, we happily enjoyed every inch of the zoo. Unfortunately, we missed out on buying tickets for the Brew in the Zoo event going on that day, but the zoo offers plenty of other activities on a day to day basis, from giraffe feedings to getting up close and personal with penguins and more. Just be sure to do your research and schedule out your day. We missed the giraffe feeding by just two minutes! So disappointing!

Find History in Fell’s Point

Fell’s Point. I’ve been to Baltimore about four times now, and each time when researching what to do I’ve come across Fell’s Point. It was a Colonial waterfront community established in the 1700s and there is ton of history there. Today, it’s a beautiful destination filled with great places to eat and hang out.

These were my top three favorite activities during this trip to Baltimore. Next time I head out, I hope to explore the neighborhoods in Baltimore more.
